Pre-Midwest Games at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)

Tujuan Program :

1) Sebagai persiapan fizikal, stamina dan mental untuk menghadapi
Midwest Games 2009 di U of Illinois pada 23-25 May 2009 akan datang.
2) Merapatkan hubungan silaturrahim di kalangan ahli-ahli kelab.
3) Menggalakkan budaya bersukan di kalangan peserta.
4) Menyediakan platform untuk pelajar meredakan ketegangan belajar
lebih-lebih lagi menjelang Final Exam.

Aktiviti-Aktiviti :

1) Pertandingan futsal
2) Pertandingan bola tampar
3) Barbeque

WE ARE THE CHANGE!

Nowadays, the most favorite topic of discussion among the people is all about the "CHANGE." But, do the people really understand  the actual definition of "CHANGE?" I sincerely hope that those who are persistently insisting for "CHANGE" know what they are fighting for. I sincerely hope that this demand of "CHANGE" would not be just a rhetorical slogan.

Yet, for me, before we're going further on the "CHANGE" agenda, we should look back on these 5 basic values of society.

1. Security

2. Freedom (should be defined very clearly) 

3. Rules

4.Justice

5. Welfare

By hook or by crook, all these five core values must be guaranteed so that the people can live happily and peacefully. Only then, the "CHANGE" agenda could take place. However, my question is, how are we gonna uphold these 5 values? I'll open this question to be discussed by those who do really care about the future of our country.

We Are The Best!

On behalf of the UMNO NY-NJ club members, I would like to congratulate the last year committee for their continuous and persistent hard work as to make this club as successful as it is today. Just for record, OUR CLUB HAS BEEN AWARDED AS ONE OF THE BEST UMNO CLUB FOR THE LAST YEAR SESSION. This result was announced during the “Kursus Kepimpinan 2009,” which was held the last two weeks in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. So, it is my pleasure to list down names of the last year committee so that their great achievements would be remembered by all the club members. For the present committee, I hope this would encourage us to work harder as to make sure this great legacy left by the previous leaders would at least be maintained by us. Our role in galvanizing the country to success.

The strength of one nation's future doesn't depend on its current leaders, its past leaders nor the second fiddle leaders of today, but it depends on the youth. In this first post, i like to underline the current goal of us, the future leaders of our beloved country in propelling our country forward.
Whether or not we realize it, our lives has always been about us, how to excel in our studies, how to accumulate the most money, getting the best in our love live, etc. but we fail to realize that these thoughts wouldn't bring any benefit to our goals in developing our country at all.our life for the past 20 years or so has only been mediocre.
In even the slightest hope of modernizing Malaysia, we ought to change our mindset, and that is the most important step of all. The mindset of an unstoppable winner as always been about determination to succeed, championing the truth, hard work, and principles of values. This, is what we have to equip ourselves with during these few years.
Getting to that though is not an easy task by all means, it took 50 years of independence but the mindset of Malaysians are still of the colonial era, and how can only a mere 4 years change the whole inclination of the people. Well, maybe the leaders can do something about it. But the question is, are the future leaders good enough to change?think about that for a moment.
Let's just have a sneak peek into what's in store of a modernized and civilized Malaysia if our minds are all inclined to success:
1. Efficiency rate of workers will go up.
2. Export will go up
3. Market will widen,GDP will increase,
4. A better quality of life.

That is only partial view of the economic effect of a hard-working worker. As the list goes on, imagine what would be the effects of these attributed mind sets of the people. So, change your mindsets from now on. from this moment on, its not about something trivial, its about advancement. From now on, its not about you and you alone, it's about the people as well.

Apa:
Program sembang santai ini merupakan edisi kedua selepas dianjurkan pada tahun 2008. Kali ini, tajuk perbincangannya adalah "ANTARA AGAMA DAN ADAT". Telah dihadiri lebih kurang 30 orang pelajar Stevens Institute of Technology, Rutgers University dan juga saudara Fazrul Ismail yang kebetulannya datang untuk program Jaulah Murabbi anjuran MISG.
Pada malam tersebut, Presiden kelab UMNO NY-NJ sendiri, Shahrir Tamrin dibantu oleh Mohd Redzuan telah berjaya menjadi moderator perbincangan pada malam itu. Ternyata begitu banyak luahan pendapat demi pendapat yang diutarakan para peserta.
Secucuk dengan nama program itu, para peserta dihidangkan degan beberapa jenis kopi (jenama Dunkin Donut) yang dibancuh oleh saudara Shahir Hafreez aka Jbon.

What:

YB Datuk Dr. Ng Yen Yen (Minister of Women, Family and Community Development) has come to Malaysia Embassy. 6 members of UMNO NY NJ club grabbed this opportunity to meet her. According to her, all government scholars in the US shoud not worry much about the economic slump back in Malaysia and she reassured that the government will not cut down the scholarship since human capital is a very important investment to our country's development.
