ABOUT US

Kelab UMNO NY-NJ (KULN NYNJ) is an association that consists of the Malaysian students who are currently studying or have studied in the universities around New York and New Jersey.

The main objectives of this association are:

1. To educate the members about the importance of knowledge towards themselves, family, society, nation and religion.


2. To introduce the facts and critical issues in life to the members.


3. To build a close relationship between the students in Malaysia and the students in United States of America. 

Characteristics That Distinguish KULN New York-New Jersey:

1.  Voluntary: 

KULN NY-NJ are formed voluntarily by students with an element of voluntary participation in the organization, whether in the form of small numbers of committees members or large numbers of members or time given by volunteers.

2.  Independent: 

KULN NY-NJ are independent within the laws of society, and controlled by those who have formed them or by elected or appointed committees. The legal status of KULN NY-NJ is based on freedom of association - one of the most basic human rights.

3.  Not-for-profit: 

KULN NY-NJ are not for private personal profit or gain. KULN may, in many countries, engage in revenue-generating activities, but must use the revenue solely in pursuit of the organization’s mission. Like other KULN, New York-New Jersey UMNO Club have committees who are not paid for what they do. Committees are not usually paid for the work they perform, but may be reimbursed for expenses they incur in the course of performing their committees duties.

4.  Not self-serving in aims and related values: 

The aims of KULN NY-NJ are to improve the circumstances and prospects of students and to act on concerns and issues detrimental to the well-being, circumstances, or prospects of people or society as a whole.
